A BEGINNER'S GUIDE TO DEICIDE, the Vampire Cowboys exploded into the
world of film, puppetry, music, and multimedia to bring alive a new
show exploring religion, violence, and comedy. The play about a Catholic
schoolgirl's time-traveling quest to murder God marked the dawn of
a new era for VCTC.

Best Choreography/Movement by
The 2005 New York Innovative Theatre Awards
“High-octane
theatrical fuel, sputtering and sparking pure fun for two solid hours.
The entire production has a slick, comic book sheen.”
– Nathan Bredeman, OFFOFFONLINE
"Smart and immensely entertaining, an excellent downtown, low-budget
alternative to uptown's SPAMALOT."
- Andy Propst, AMERICAN THEATRE WEB
"'A
Beginner's Guide to Deicide' brings manga to Milton and anime to Aquinas.
It might seem like a lot of chop-socky nonsense, but somehow it also
manages an intelligently reasoned invective against faith. That's
impressive kung-fu!"
– Helen Shaw, NEW YORK SUN
“Nguyen
& Parker have the fearless, take-no-prisoners bravura of early
Monty Python, few playwrights could dream up a heretical, post-modern
stew of a show like this one.”
– Martin Denton, NYTHEATRE.COM
"This is a talented bunch of folks!"
- Kessa De Santis, ELECTRONIC LINK JOURNEY

vampire
cowboy trilogy: fringenyc
During
the Summer of 2004, the Vampire Cowboys brought their acclaimed show,
VAMPIRE COWBOY TRILOGY, to the New York International Fringe Festival.
The show, now fashioned for a much more intimate space, featured new
fights, a new cast member, a reimagined set, as well as a new graphic
designer heading VCTC's grassroots marketing campaign. Another box
office and critical success, VC3 sold out its entire FringeNYC run
and received many rave reviews.
"Vampire
Cowboy Trilogy is an innovative, energetic theatrical treat. Bloody
Great!"
— Neal Utterback, NYTHEATRE.COM
"This
company, which both mocks and exalts the traditions of stage combat
and cultural icons, makes a shrewd and compelling statement about
the lunacy of violence in our world."
— Andy Propst, AMERICAN THEATER WEB
"The
fight choreography is impressive. Sparks literally fly . . . Co-creator
Qui Nguyen has choreographed the fights with assistance from Sarah
Mayfield and Melissa Paladino, and they've done a fine job."
— Dan Bacalzo, THEATREMANIA
"There's no weak link in this lineup that earns the undead a
long-awaited good name."
— Will Doig, NEW YORK MAGAZINE
